Message from the Principal
Dear Keene Families and Community,
Welcome to Keene Elementary School — Home of the Koalas! I am Mariellen Taraboletti, Principal of Keene Elementary, and it is my pleasure to welcome you to our school community. Whether you are a current family, a prospective family, or simply interested in learning more about Keene, we are glad you are here!
At Keene, we are committed to providing engaging academic experiences while supporting the growth of the whole child. Our students have opportunities to participate in programs and activities such as Advanced Academics, mentoring, Student Council, Running Club, and much more. Field trips, special events, and hands-on learning experiences further extend and reinforce the learning that takes place in our classrooms each day.
We are incredibly proud of Keene's tradition of excellence. Most recently, Keene was recognized as a 2026 National ESEA Distinguished School for Closing the Achievement Gap and received the 2026 DSSF Continued Progress Award. Previous honors include the 2017 Recognition School Award, 2011 Superstars in Education Award, 2012 Recognition School Award, and 2013 School of Continued Excellence Award. Keene has also been recognized for our implementation of Positive Behavior Support throughout the years.
Beyond academics, we believe that a strong school community is an essential part of student success. Our students and families enjoy traditions such as Family Fun Night, Multi-Cultural Night, Math and Reading Nights, and many other activities that make Keene a special place to learn and grow.
Families and community members are valued partners at Keene. We encourage you to become involved by volunteering, participating in school events and committees, mentoring students, and sharing your talents with our school community.
Most importantly, our doors are always open. We believe that strong relationships and collaboration among students, families, staff, and the community are essential to ensuring the success of every child.

Parents/Guardians must complete an Online Acknowledgment Form for the 2026-2027 school year and agree to complete and return them to the school, as necessary. All forms for the 2026-2027 school year will be available on the Infinite Campus Parent Portal.

If your child needs a regularly-scheduled pick-up or drop-off at any location other than their registered home address, please complete the Child Care Transportation Form. This form must be completed annually.
