Employee of the Year
Each year, the Christina School District honors outstanding educators and employees through the Teachers and Employee Champions of the Year awards. After a rigorous selection process, each school building selects a Teacher of the Year, who then competes for the prestigious title of District Teacher of the Year. Additionally, the district recognizes Employee Champions of the Year from each classified employee group, with the winner going on to compete for the District Educational Support Professional of the Year. Here, we proudly showcase our past winners, celebrating their dedication and commitment to educational excellence.

Michelle is a veteran educator with over 30 years in elementary education, grounded in the belief that every child can succeed. During a pivotal era of reform focused on equity and high expectations, Michelle strengthened her commitment to student success through training in research-based literacy practices and collaboration, emerging as a respected teacher leader with a record of accelerating student growth. Through engaging strategies like reader's theater and culturally responsive texts, she inspires a love of reading.
