Curriculum

At Keene Elementary School, we offer Integrated Language Arts through flexible grouping and interventions. Our curriculum is Benchmark Advance.  We use student assessment data to plan for all students to maximize their potential. In reading comprehension, phonemic awareness and oral fluency are critical skills. We use Smithsonian and STEM Kits to provide our science instruction, which is all hands on through experimentation. In math, we use a series called "I-Ready", which is more student and parent friendly and exposes students to solving Math using prior experiences. Technology enhances instruction. Keene has a counselor and other support personnel to assist students in their daily lives. Students are offered, art, music, physical ed., library and social skills. Students take great pride in our school activities such as Family Fun Night, Math/Reading Nights, Disney Day and others.
